David Taylor

Marketing Partner, through GROW: in London

David left school not knowing what he wanted to do in life and started his career as an Apprentice Mechanic.

He soon found his passion in Marketing and went on to work at Microsoft Advertising [Xbox LIVE] and Cisco before turning to the world of Start-ups, working as Head of Marketing at RedCloud and New Business Marketing at Currencycloud. 

Now he's running HR Strategy Pro's Marketing Partner GROW: in London - the Start-up Friendly Marketing Agency, helping Start-ups GROW: in London, and beyond. 

When he's not doing that, David is a Mentor at Virgin StartUp and Start-up Kitchen. He also co-founded the popular "Recruit.Retain.Grow" series with HR Strategy Pro Director Nick Butcher.

Simon Tidmarsh

International Business Advisor

Simon`s working life started at 15, and over this time has travelled extensively for work and pleasure, from shop floor to boardroom.

He took the plunge from a senior position within a Global Tyre Manufacturer, to going it alone and buy into an existing business that had run its time. As managing director, he and his team reinvigorated it and 8 years later sold it to a multinational Chinese tyre group. His passion for travel became part of his career, with buying trips to China, India, Turkey and Europe. In this time, he has experienced frustrations, delights and surprises with the different cultures he’s encountered but ultimately has made great and successful relationships with the suppliers and people he has met.

Simon now shares his experiences with business owners looking to import for the first time, guiding and supporting key members of staff as to how to deal with the many obstacles when taking those first steps. He also now owns and runs Icotyre, which focus on suppling Industrial and Construction tyres to the industry.

Executive Director - HR Professional and Business Mentor

Nick has been an HR Professional for over 10 years and has held senior HR positions within both Corporate Multinational and SME Companies.

Within this time he has worked on a number of strategic HR & Learning and Development projects. These have included, leading and setting up a Company's HR Department in the UK and Ireland, developing a Return on Investment method for a multinational's UK training centre and working on large scale Change Management and restructure projects.

Nick achieved his Level 7 Diploma in International HR Management in June 2017 and is a Chartered Member of the CIPD. 

He is also a Business Mentor for Virgin Start-Up and Co-founded the popular "Recruit.Retain.Grow" series with Marketing Expert David Taylor.

Nigel Brittle

​Employee Benefits and Engagement Partner, through Touchpoint

Nigel has over 25 years’ experience in employee benefits, financial services and workplace communications. He previously worked in senior board level marketing, communications and operational roles with responsibilities spanning the UK, Europe, Asia and Pacific regions within both Aon and ACE before becoming CEO of AIM listed employee benefits provider, Personal Group.

Having focused on developing service delivery to larger corporate employers, Nigel recognised that there is an identifiable need for SME businesses to also have access to engaging benefit services. He co-founded Touchpoint to address this need and to deliver a differentiated service to both UK employers and employees.

Neil Butcher (FCIPD) 

Executive Director - HR Professional and Executive Coach

Neil has spent over thirty years working within HR at senior and Director level.

His experience, both nationally and internationally, has covered a wide range of industries including Healthcare, Water, Hotels, Public Transportation and Waste Management.

During this time Neil successfully managed the HR element of the merger between two of the largest waste management Companies in the UK , involving over 10,000 employees.

He has also been responsible for the succession planning for a global organisation working across over 20 countries.

Neil has an MA in HR Management and has been a Fellow of the CIPD since 2006.

HR Professional and Business Advisor

David has enjoyed a career spanning the Private and Public Sectors holding Executive and Main Board Director roles in Local Government, Business Representative Organisations, Banking, Financial Services and the Agricultural and Timber Sectors. Having held senior positions within Natwest, Surrey County Council and was also Director General for the British Chambers of Commerce.

From his experience of developing and managing major change programs, he gained specialised knowledge of productivity improvement and through his diverse career activities and has built up a deep and wide understanding of business improvement programmes, people development and employment law.

He has also developed a number of start-up businesses, including an online personnel outsourcing business, Work Wise UK, Staff Share and Skill Exchange UK, all established to contribute towards the UK becoming more productive and competitive.
